January 23, 2012
  « Back « Previous Next »

On January 14th, Bandits were home to the St.-Isidore Eagles. General Manager, Richard Julien, says that “this is the most improved team in the league”. Bandits showed great character in the 3rd period – coming from behind to force overtime and shoot-out. Unlike the previous week vs. Papineauville, this time, Kevin Joyce made the difference – Bandits won 4-3.

The next day, Bandits were visiting the Rockland Nationals. Jeremy Auger scored his first hat trick as a Junior hockey player – taking advantage of loose pucks in front of the net. Although the Bandits loss the game, it was confirmed later that Rockland had an ineligible player on their roster. As a result, Bandits were awarded the win.

Saturday, January 21st, La Peche Predators were visiting the Bandits. This is a very talented team – providing players stay out of the penalty box. Unfortunately for La Peche, their lack of discipline showed in the 2nd period – receiving more than 100 minutes in penalties.  Bandit won the game 5-3. Ben Harris scored the game winning goal.

Sunday, January 22nd, Bandits were visiting the North Dundas Rockets. The Rockets recently defeated several top seated teams. Goaltending for the Rockets made the difference in the outcome of this game. Head Coach, Bob Paquette, said that “when you out-shoot your opponents 62-27, you normally end the game with a win”. Brandon Sullivan was the only Bandits player to score. Not for lack of trying – we lost the game 4-1.

The Bandits next game is Saturday January 28th. The Bandits will be visiting the Vankleek Hill Cougars.

The Bandits next home game is Saturday February 4th – Ray Friel Pad #1. The Rockland Nationals will be the visiting team. Game starts at 7:30 pm.
