Bandits Go 0-2 on the Weekend

After starting the season with a perfect weekend, the Cumberland Bandits Hockey Club lost both games this past weekend when they followed up Saturday’s lost with a 6-1 defeat at the hands of the Papineau Vikings who played an unusual 3 games this past weekend.

“We went into the game limping as we have 7 regulars out of the lineup.  Our team gave a good effort but we simply could not stop Papineau for 60 minutes “said Coach Murdoch

Lucas De Vries was making his Bandit debut and he played very well only allowing 2 goals in the first two periods.  As the Bandits defense got tired things got a bit more difficult for De Vries who was still praised by his coaches and teammates for keeping them in as long as he did.

Justin Labrosse and Danny Plourde-Grenon led the way for the Vikings with three points each.  Yanick Gosselin was once again superb in nets and added an assist to help offensively as well.  Alex Labrecque was the only Bandit player to score in the game.

The Bandits will practice on Wednesday and will try to regroup in time for Thanksgiving weekend with only one game on Saturday Night against the powerful Metcalfe Jets who will be making the first NCJHL visit at Ray Friel.  Puck Drop will be 7:30pm
